What do our customers say?

★★★★★

“My experience with Mac Marine Group has been excellent. The staff were pleasant, courteous, friendly and accommodating.

My needs were not straight forward as a number of my issues were warranty matters. This required Christian and the staff to deal with not just myself, but also a couple of third parties. This required flexibility and understanding of the sometimes competing demands. They handled it all with professionalism.

The level of communication between them, myself and the third parties was exemplary. I always felt I was up to speed on what was taking place.”

Explore Some Recent Refits and Restoration Projects

Lobster Boat Project:
‘Prohibition’ (ex ‘Omega’)

Previously called ‘Omega’ this beautiful classic wooden lobster boat sold through our yacht brokerage six months prior to the job. Her new owner engaged us to handle a major overhaul of the newly named ‘Prohibition’.

This involved a complete restoration and respray of the interior, and considerable refinishing to the exterior of the yacht.

It was a huge effort from the Mac Marine Group team, because the owner wanted to have the boat ready for Christmas.

The refit included:

  • A complete strip and re-paint of the vessel using Awlgrip finishes, Awlcraft 2000 and Toplac.

  • Strip and re-varnish of all timber work, both interior and exterior.

  • Custom cabinetry work in the galley, cupboards, lockers and the head.

  • Rot repairs to the cabin.

  • Custom name board on the transom, and much, much more!

Our onsite partners Barrenjoey Marine Electrics assisted by tackling a major job rewiring the entire vessel. They also upgraded the boat to digital switching, which BME Manager Dan Turner explains in the video above.

We also worked alongside Wakeford Marine Services to ensure the old Gardner engine was running as it should.

We are able to complete these types of re-fits thanks to our onsite partners and trusted suppliers.

We thank our client for trusting our team and we hope you enjoy your time on the water. Bring on the next one!

Converted Timber Trawler Project: ‘Grace’

Following an eight week sprint, ‘Grace’ is now looking incredible.

Our refit team undertook an extensive job list which included major fibreglass repairs, and a complete fill and fair of the entire topsides.

This job used over 10 gallons of fairing compound, and 6 weeks of the torture board, to ensure the highest quality finish when it came to handover day.

The owner of this vessel is the head of one of the most revered luxury yacht manufacturers in the world. As you would expect, he has some incredibly high standards and a laser-focused eye for detail.

As a result, and standard practice for our team, no detail was too small to be overlooked during this two month project. The owner of ‘Grace’ is thrilled with the outcome that Mac Marine achieved for him.

Full Respray:
58’ Hatteras ‘Bodacious

'Bodacious' a 58' Hatteras, received a full overhaul by our in-house paint team recently.

With a tight timeframe requested of 4 weeks, they worked exceptionally hard to get this Hatteras completed in record time.

This project involved:

  • A full respray of the hull topsides and superstructure

  • New stainless steel hand rails

  • New custom stainless steel bimini on the flybridge

  • And various other extra custom trimming work.

She is a gorgeous vessel and we were excited to deliver her back to her proud owners.

Keep an eye out to see her cruising around Pittwater this Summer.

“The whole process was amazing from the first phone call.

Receiving the quote promptly, the help and assistance in getting our yacht to the marina. The care and detail that was taken in the antifouling and detailing, to the completion of the work and our joy on picking up the yacht to find her in such immaculate condition.

Thank you so much for all that was done, we do appreciate it all.”

Topside Respray:
Norman Wright & Sons ‘Haven

Topside respray completed in a custom metallic Black Mist and silver boot stripe, varnish works, as well as annual out of water maintenance. We completed this job for the well-respected Sydney Vessel Management. We completed this job on-time and on-budget due to our in house capabilities to mix and make the metallic base coat colour.

Classic Timber Cruiser M/V
Zephyr

The mighty ‘Zephyr’ worked hard over Summer and deserved a little TLC. Her owner Marcel engaged our capable team of Shipwrights to completely strip and re-paint her topsides, as well as tidy up some of her seams before antifouling her bottom. Whilst ‘Zephyr’ was on the hardstand, Marcel took the opportunity to remove and overhaul the running gear.

Gyro Stabiliser Installation:
42’ Boston Whaler

Teaming up with PG from Gineico, supplier of Quick Stabilisers, our team had the task of re-fitting the unit into a tight aft deck compartment, which involved pulling apart and rearranging the compartment to make space for the Quick Gyro. This was no simple installation which involved cutting out and reinforcing stringers for backing plates, manufacturing a stainless pan for the unit to sit on, and a complex wire up which we engaged onsite partner BME to undertake.

With the new stabiliser fitted, the boat’s roll was reduced by a staggering 94%.

Hull Respray:
Palm Beach 50 ‘Bellini

Topside metallic green respray, varnish works, as well as annual out of water maintenance. Working alongside Oscar Rowell Enterprises and Club Marine Insurance, this was a great project for all involved.

Full Respray:
Palm Beach 55 ‘Alfresco

This glam Palm Beach 55 was given a birthday using Awlcraft 2000 Flag Blue, with a Palm Beach Cream boot stripe. Again, working alongside Oscar Rowell and Palm Beach Motor Yachts, it was another successful respray for a fantastic return customer.

Hull Respray:
Luca Brenta 38’

This little beauty received the full treatment and was resprayed in a metallic Mercedes custom base coat with AwlCraft 2000 Clear over the top. The carbon rig was sprayed using Awlgrip 1000 ‘Jet Black’, and Oscar Rowell carried out all new teak sprung decks. A fantastic job coordinated alongside the boys at ‘Wild Oats’.

J130 ‘Ragtime’

This classic ocean racer was purchased by a great customer of ours. He decided to give it the full treatment including cutting out major areas of rotten balsa core throughout the deck and topsides, new interior fit-out, top to bottom respray, new running and standing rigging, as well as mechanical works.

This owner can now sail her as hard as ever with confidence!

Jeanneau 50’ - Keel Job

This poor old girl suffered the effects of the dreaded electrolysis. With a stainless fuel tank in the keel fin, electrolysis is not want you want to hear!

We removed the fin from the hull, then split the 5T bulb from the fin which wasn’t a straight forward task. From there, the guys at Custom Engineering carried out repairs to the fin, before fitting it all back to the boat and getting the new owner sailing again.

Mariner 43’ ‘Destiny’

The passionate owner of this classic game boat spared no expense with all new teak decks, a beautiful (massive) swim platform with all the stainless bells and whistles, all new clears, interior carpets, names and stripes.

‘Wild Oats’ #1

The original ‘Wild Oats’ (formerly ‘Wild Rose’) was given the full treatment. After a full respray, steering system works and electronics, Brett Eagle and his crew were straight into competing in the CYCA offshore series.

‘Satori’ - 50’ McConaghy Yacht

Working alongside Mitch White @ One Stop Marine, this beautiful yacht was lifted high enough to completely remove the retractable keel for hydraulic works.

After a full list of repairs and other maintenance items, this racer / cruiser was back on the water looking as good as new!

‘Little Nico’ - Shaw 11m

This canting keel, full carbon rocket ship has been a return customer to the Mac yard since being launched in 2015.

Under the management of Mitch White, together we have pulled her apart and put her back together multiple times.
