When Hatteras boat yard began 65 years ago by founder, Willis Slane, he envisioned a new breed of fishing boat. One strong enough to tame the waves off Cape Hatteras in USA.
What followed was the birth of a legend. Revolutionising the industry in 1959 with the first complete fibreglass built yacht, Hatteras served notice that his yachts would now be the standard to which all others were judged – above and below the waterline.
Memphis was designed and built 5 years later in 1964 where she served her time mainly along the East coast. She underwent a complete refit in 2011 and then was purchased and shipped over to Sydney by her current owner, a highly regarded marine professional.
